About the Project

The Journey Home is a new science-fiction musical from the father-daughter writing team of Keith Herbert and Hannah Herbert-Hunt. 

Keith first began working on the music back in 2006, and then in 2018 Hannah joined as the book writer. Now the story is completed, half of the songs written, and they’re ready to start sharing the material with the public. 

Our intent is to provide as much material in chronological order as possible, though some songs or scenes may be completed and presented out of order.

We have been filming the scenes remotely and individually using actors in various locations throughout the United States as a result of current restrictions. Eventually we hope to have more than one actor allowed in a room together to present the scenes as they were intended, on a stage.

Similarly, the music is recorded by each singer individually in their respective homes across the U.S. and then compiled and mixed in California.
